Moving from the back

Are you ever tired of always getting put in the back! Well here are some ways to move up to the front in the spotlight:

1.) Show your Confidence - If you are confident, are able to make noise, and can hit the crowd effectively then that might show the coach that you should be in front.

2.) Have Patience - Sometimes you have to wait your turn and let the girls/guys that have been there longer have their chance in the spotlight. You'll get your chance.

3.) Improve your Skills - Your skill level will make a BIG impact on where you are placed. Tumbling, motions, dance, stunting, basket tosses, pyramids, etc. are all important and here are some quick tips to help improve them:
a.tumbling - Take some classes to improve your tumbling skills
b.motions - Work on your motions in a mirror. Make sure they are stiff and on point.
c.dance - Take dance classes to get more dancing experience.
d.stunts - Fliers need to work on staying tight and bases need to be able to squeeze and hit the stunt solid.
e.baskets - Don't be hesitant to throw or fly. Understand the technique and apply it to your toss.
f.pyramids - Bases need to be solid underneath (no complaining). Fliers need to be able to stay tight and NOt place so much weight onto other parts of the pyramid.

4.) Have a Good Attitude - If you have a good attitude, are punctual, and willing to try anything then this will have a positive effect on the coach.

5.) Talk to the coach - Ask the coach about what they are looking for and they will hopefully be able to point you in the correct direction.

Do you want to get more points at tryouts?

There are so many little things that you can do to get yourself a higher score at tryouts that don't take that much time to practice.

So why do so many people miss these points? The reason is that they just don't know. They are not aware of what the judges are looking for and so they make so many mistakes.

So how do we know the secrets? The reason is that we were former judges, coaches, and cheerleaders. We have experienced tryouts from every side. We know how tryouts are run, and we know what you can do to improve yourself.
