Tryout Tip 3: You must have confidence during the tryout period.

[Tips for Appearance Score:] You must have confidence during the tryout period. So many girls/guys tryout for cheerleading and are so nervous and so timid that it hurts their score. They don't hit their motions strong, you can barely hear them during their chants, and they hold back when doing their skills. Part of being a cheerleader is being confident. So at least act like you know what you are doing so the judges feel you could fit in immediately.
Why do this? It will project the judges that you know what you are doing, it will be less obvious when you do make a mistake, you will immediately look as though you could be a cheerleader, it will make you stand out and give you a better SPIRIT and APPEARANCE score.
How to do this? Watch your posture, yell with authority, keep your head up, look at the judges, hit your motions sharp (in chants, dance, and in stunts), and don't be hesitant with any of your skills.
Next Tip: Practice in front of a mirror.
